Events, both good and bad have eaten into my time like spring sunshine into ice and today I must dash. Therefore there will be no Round-Up.

After last week’s no show I was hoping for better things this week, but we seem to have a picture heavy round-up this time. The truth is I have a lot happening at the moment and the real world intervention doesn’t look like it is going to end any time soon. The net result of this is that I don’t have time for writing and reading.

As for writing, I have done it again and have started a new series (The Sinclair Method, a rare return to F/F period fiction) without finishing old ones. But at least I have managed to restart Ad Astra which is progressing. The next instalment is next week and I am determined not to let much more than a fortnight pass without a new episode.

You may have noticed too that I have started Cade County shorts, which like Abaconti give me a place with established characters to drop in on from time to time in short 2,000 word bursts. These will be mostly M/F (with some occasional F/F) Americana episodes based in one town at different points in its history. So far we have been to 1983 twice and 1892 where we will soon return.

Future visits may include the 1930s and 1950s, but not until after The Sinclair Method is complete, since that already has that period covered.

Future plans (of Mice and Men) include a return to Angela, Raw and Abraham Heights, but since none of these have an end game yet (I do sometimes plan these things) and Ad Astra does, I decided to focus there.

Also there are plans afoot to publish Magic as a book. LSF are chomping at the bit for it (which is gratifying) but have understood my time constraints given the epic editing requirements. There will be another collection or novella published before then in any case.

Responding to comments too has slipped, but thanks for all your contributions and for the submissions by anecdote writers and picture contributors who have emailed in. some of which cannot be used for various reasons as I have explained to you and others (with your kind permission) may be edited and published at a later date.

Looking at Spankville this week there is little news sadly. Many bloggers are clamouring for Miley Cyrus to be spanked, which is of course the kind of attention she is seeking, but if it ever happens I suspect it will be old news before I get to it.

The most significant event is that Stan at Au Fil des Jour has closed his blog. We hope that it is temporary and that he hasn’t run afoul of Blogspot, but I have noticed he has been slow to update lately.

Firstly, my apologies for the lack of a proper Weekly Round-up for almost a month. Last Monday traffic was insane with what I suppose now was people coming back to see if it had gone up. I should have posted that it would not appear but up until late afternoon I hoped that I would make it.

Things here are almost back to normal regarding the blog, although I am still writing in an attic high above London manfully struggling with a dial-up. As a consequence some blogs won’t load and I couldn’t review them this week.

The builders are still in downstairs and as I write their radio is playing ‘it is the end of the world as we know it’ (or is it ‘and we know it’?) you know the one. Not that dramatic surely.

Spankville was still buzzing last week. Apart from the pictures culled as above, the Chicago Spanking Review is celebrating 10 years in the business, which is well worth a mention. Check it out if you haven’t already, but unfortunately it was one of those that the pictures wouldn’t load.

It is May Bank Holiday here in London, that is the first Monday after May Day so have a good one everyone.

It has been a good week for movie snippets this week. Just to mention a few, Chross has a classic mainstream whipping scene from the 1966 movie Ramrodder (pictured right), Cranky Spanker has the spanking scene from Love Crimes (pictured above) and Chicago Spanking Review has a cute spanking from the 1950s TV show Route 66.

This is a partial translation (a joint effort by yours truly and Google Translate) from a Japanese spanking site about a woman who became a spanking model. For effect some of the odd phrasing has been left.

When I came to Tokyo I was spanked by auntie who I had to live with when working in the big city. Auntie very strict and when I come home late, don’t clean up or she think I not look for good work enough then I get punished.

Until I moved to the US for my studies I had to live with family friend who I called my ‘auntie’, I thought only Chinese girls had corner time. At home it was just that, rarely beating and just like in picture.

This is an odd little snippet about a Korean girl who moved to London.

At home when father or mother disapproved of us my sisters and I had to face the wall with our hands on our head. Just that. This went on until we left home well into being adults. I had this until 22 when I left college, but my older sister was much at home until nearly 30 and had the same.

The row of bottoms yesterday had a modern feel and was superb, if I do say so myself. I barely looked at it when queuing things up for my time away. Actually that has been typical of this blog for a while. I have been reappraising myself and issues around this blog for some time now. The holiday has been just a catalyst for some of these thoughts.

I am going to focus on more relationship stuff for a while, not that there won’t be stories and reportage when it comes available. It is just that while writing is an opportunity to explore ideas it can also be a mask to hide from oneself. I won’t be closing any doors or lurching in any strange directions and for the most part readers won’t notice. If they do it will be because of an improvement in quality I hope; more on this soon in a post.

A lot has happened in Spankville while I was away, too much for me to even summarise in a morning, let alone get to read. I really have been of the grid for a week you see.

I did notice that something strange has happened to Dom with Pen. I hope this is a glitch, but it wouldn’t be the first time that a Tumblr has vanished in strange circumstances. Let us hope not and it returns.

Just when you think summer has arrived along comes the rain, storms and a good helping of cold snap. But we can hopeful as the month progresses.

Speaking of storms, I was beavering away in the attic when a bolt from the sky took out the electrics and left me in the dark. Even the computer stuttered to a close before the back-up power on it cut in. It rather interrupted the flow of words though, especially when precious needed me elsewhere to cope with the storm.

I really should spank her when she interrupts me, but strictly speaking it was the storm not her.

Anyway as per usual I have not spent as much time hitting Spankville to report so there is less prose this week and a few more pictures.

I had too brief mails though and both as it happens about corner time. One sub girl asked how long was a fair amount of corner time; as her boyfriend put her in the corner too long. The other was from a girl who wondered aloud if superglue was permissible when trying to keep her girlfriend in the corner.

I do hope the latter question was a joke. As for the length of corner time, well it depends on the offence. As a rule of thumb the base line should be about one minute for every year old doubled for big girls. It can be redoubled if the offence warrants this, but excessive time should be broken up with some exercise. I suggest spanking.

Of course I told subgirl that three weeks should suffice, hopefully she will now think herself lucky.

It has been one of those weeks (isn’t it always?) and I seem to have got behind on replying to emails and comments. The emails are the worst as if I let it slip I forget who I owe an email to.

I did notice that the local garden centre had a selection of swatters (for swatting anything you want with they said). I thought they looked a bit robust for flies. Next to them were some paddle like things too, but they must have some gardening/kitchen application, mustn’t they?

She’s not been behaving herself (except at the weekend when we had visitors) so we may be having some words soon.

Things are beginning to slow down in Spankville with all this summer heat.

I was in Yorkshire for the weekend and forgot that even that far north it does not get dark this time of year. Having left the pub at closing time in twilight I was awoken at just after three with a blaze of sunshine that almost sent me to get dressed for breakfast. I can see why the ancients thought that the solstice was magic.

I also dropped in on the Bronte museum. A happy Victorian house (before they all dropped dead in their 30s) but with undertones of stern paternal authority in Mr Bronte’s study. When you consider Jane Eyre and the juvenilia one wonders…

Anyway, Kia (Acknowledging Imperfection) emailed me to say that Paulo in Dublin (Wholebean and I) has gone down. I suspect Blogspot took exception, but who knows, he has gone before. No doubt he will be back.

But that does bring me on to a review of links. Too many links are counterproductive and I do get a lot of request for the blogroll. Some blogs have not updated for a while so my get trimmed, the exception being British Spanking Stories, which is an archive and still useful to regular readers here.

So if you are a blog keeper who has been lacklustre lately you might want to update. But don’t worry if you are on a break, I have reinstated blogs many times before.

Sometimes summer gives us a false start in June. Once when I was at school the maize field where we caught the bus was left under three inches of snow; a surreal image. It is not quite that bad at the moment but I am seriously considering lighting the fire if not sticking the central heating on.

Still the day is sunny and it may warm up, but I am not lingering in the attic today.
